Lockdown is easing and with this I have my first gallery group show of 2021. Hurrah!
Enter Gallery on Bond Street in Brighton have just opened ‘Chasing The Sun’ and for the show I wanted to develop my Film Stills series so I have made 2 x new prints called ‘Ambushed’ from this collection. They are currently exclusive to Enter Gallery but I will release them on my website in due course.

In this age of image, saturated with selfies and YouTube celebrity, these prints offer a refreshing tonic: maybe there’s more to life than meets the ego. As our silver-screen star gets overgrown with leaves and garlands, there’s an eco message sprouting here, too: maybe, just maybe, it's mother nature who will have the last word. Finished with a strip of golden glitter, Rivans embeds a glimmer of optimism above the sci-fi surreality; because somewhere beyond the clouds, the sun is still shining. Harking back to classic collage aesthetics – ‘Ambushed’ nails that vintage cinema feel. This is technicolor for the twenty-first century.
